Saturday, January 14, 2012  Rescue 1 had just cleared an elevator in northeast, when they responded for the report of a water rescue in Rock Creek near, Rock Creek Parkway and P St NW. Engine 2 responded with the support unit and the boat to Rock Creek. Engine 2 and Rescue 1 arrived on scene, and placed the small boat in service. Once the boat was in service the man was rescued and was hauled back to shore with the help of Engine 2 and the rest of the water rescue assignment. The man was then handed over to awaiting EMS. Rescue 1 and Engine 2 returned to service shortly after. The Special Operations Battalion Chief had command of the incident.

Water rescue assignment: Engine 5, Truck 2, Rescue 1 and Rescue 2 with support unit, Fireboat, Hazmat Unit, Engine 2 with the support unit, and BCSO.
