Thursday, January 26, 2012 Rescue 1 responded for the report of a pedistrian struck, in the area of 17th St and Constitution Ave NW. Units arrived on scene found a patient that had bed struck by a van and was trapped underneath. Rescue 1 arrvied on scene, and began the extrication process using the aibags to the lift the van. Once the patient was extricated, the patient was handed over to awaiting EMS, where they were then transported to a local hospital. Rescue 1 returned to service shortly after.
