Rescue 1 responded to the 1200 Block of 33rd St NW, for the report of carbon monoxide leak, in the apartments of the popular Georgetown Cupcakes (DC Cupcakes). Units arrvied on scene and began investigating the leak. Rescue 1 arrived on scene and ran meters to help detect the levels of carbon monoxide and find the source of the leak. There were approximately 18 people in need of EMS, due to that the Firefighting Deputy. and the Mobile Command Unit responded. The Firefighting Deputy requested for the Mass Cassualty Bus, for the amount of people in need of EMS. Washington Gas was also called in to assist in pinpointing the location of the leak. After searching for approximately three hours, units found it to be a defective hot water heater. The Firefighting Deputy had command of the incident.
